The homeowners of this 1950’s home located in Rapid City dramatically changed the heart of their home through a complete kitchen renovation.

What was once a dated, enclosed and forgettable kitchen was transformed into a bright and inviting space that became open to the living room. To achieve such a transformation, the homeowners turned to Boom Construction of Rapid City to oversee the project. A bit more involved than a simple fresh coat of paint, Boom Construction removed the old cabinets, lighting, and soffit, relocated both the access to the stairs and the kitchen sink, among a variety of other improvements to make the space more functional for the family.

Working with Jesse Welbig at Builders FirstSource, the homeowners crafted a new layout that increased the flow of the space while also adding a new kitchen island complete with a built-in spice and wine rack.

What was once an outdated eyesore is now an enduring space constructed with material choices that will withstand the many design fads of time.
