Unlike wood, alternative decking is a highly engineered, precisely crafted product. All of our decking is created by blending and heating quality raw materials to forge a composite with the desired characteristics. This composite is then shaped, cooled, surface-prepped, and cut to size. The result is a board (or other product) that combines the beauty and texture of real wood with superior durability, workability, and lasting, low-maintenance performance.

At a high level, alternative decking falls into two categories: PVC and WPC (wood plastic composite). PVC includes only inorganic materials, which enables superior physical properties and performance characteristics. WPC includes recycled wood waste as well, for a “greener” product with more wood-like qualities. Most alternative decking is also “capped” with an additional outer layer for enhanced durability.
